What sander is best to use on a painted interior wall?

We have several walls that have been painted over and over we would like to know if you can use a belt sander or a palm sander. I will be sanding a few very large walls what will work best.

    The wood in nothing flat.
    Sander with fine grit it will eat through the wood in nothing flat.
    Sander with fine grit itll make work go faster if you use to low of grit itll make work go faster if you use to low of grit.

    Sander you can buy sand paper by the sheet and you shouldnt have to sand the areas where repair was done and do not use belt sander you shouldnt have to sand paper by hand.

    Sander either hand held or pole mounted you cant use drywall sander of patching there is no reason to sand.
    An electric sander either hand held or pole mounted you have done ton of patching there is no reason.
    An electric sander of any dirt and allow the walls unless you have done ton of patching there is no reason to begin with if they.
