What kind of sander do I use to get rust off of a car?

I’ve read so many “how to” articles I’m going crazy. I started to look for a sander to get rid of a few rust spots on the Jeep. What kind of sander do I buy? I saw one that’s a Craftsman disc sander/polisher. Would that work? What exactly am I looking for?
