I’m now looking into orbital floor sander options. Given my complete lack of experience with these things, should I rent one of these babies and give it a try or forget about it and pound the pavement and look for a professional.
AGirlieTomboy asked:

What is the most powerful sander for corners of a deck and for sanding vertical outdoor wood? I have a Fein Power Vac, so I want something that has an attachment for that. I’ve successfully sanded my entire 50′x25′ deck, as in, taken off approx. 2mm of 25yr old wood, with a Bosch 4″x24″ belt sander but would like to finish corners and around nails that stubbornly refused to be driven down. I would like to use the same high-power sander on vertical boards, also. I’ve tried the Festool Rotex 125 FEQ, which combines eccentric with rotational motion, but it’s too much orbital motion for really rough sanding. Thanks for any help!

Question posted courtesy of: Mitchell

peepingtom70 asked:

Ok, I saw someone saying that Dewalt is the best. However I didn;t see alot of people backing up this claim. Now I DO know that Dewalt DOES make quality products for sure, but I was kinda wondering if they aren’t just kinda riding their name a bit? While they still make good tool perhaps they aren’t the GREAT tools they used to be? Bit I digress. Another brand that I thought was supposed to make really good tools is Bosch. But I haven’t seen anyone mention them? Are THEY not what they used to be? Or was I mis-informed to begin with? My dad has always used Makita and lower end Dewalt. But he has never been one to “splurge” on getting the absolute BEST either. I havent bought ANY power tools before (never had a resason to in my young life). But I just got my first house and needs alot of work. I KNOW I will need some quality tools to help me through the process. Any advice that anyone can offer would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Question posted courtesy of: Jim
