the space is relatively small and i don’t want to rent a drum sander for a room that tiny. i think i can take on that room without it being too much trouble. any suggestion?

sure ya can. may need a palm sander as well to get along the edges but you will be able to do a fine job, go with the grain of the wood, use a good stain ,sealer and varnish. it will look great, just don’t rush it.

you can but its going to be dusty…dont stop moving when using a belt sander , its easy to gouge your floor if you dont keep it moving…

not really–a belt sander only goes in one direction–you need an orbiting sander–so it want leave stricks
